Free workshop: Creative Fundraising Techniques for Artists
Deadline to reserve your space: June 17, 2013
The Idaho Commision on the Arts, in partnership with Arts Northwest, invites you to a free workshop for performance and visual artists.
The internet offers opportunities for raising awareness, support, and money. We'll discuss several creative ways to raise arts-related money including crowd-funding sites such as KickStarter, ArtistShare, Indiegogo, Rockethub, SellaBand, and more.
Allan Pressel, the CEO of Powersite123 will present a highly interactive session. Plus, a free lunch is provided, so reserve your space by calling the Idaho Commision on the Arts, 208-334-2119 before June 17.

Introduction to printmaking workshop at Wingtip Press
June 18, 20, 25 and 27
Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1 pm till 4 pm
Learn the basics of intaglio printmaking in this two week workshop with local artist Cassandra Schiffler. If you enjoy drawing, you'll love learning this traditional drypoint process where mark making on a copper plate creates rich, velvety printed lines. At the end of the
workshop you will take home a suite of editioned drypoint prints as well as the knowledge and tools (scribe and burnisher) for continued success. Beginners welcome!
Cost: $125 + $50 supply fee

Classes for summer are enrolling now

The Art Center provides classes for all ages and skill levels in a variety of media. Classes are taught by local artists and educators for a reasonable fee. Many are already full but there are still classes available in the spring.

College of Western Idaho Visiting Artist Program
Application deadline: September 6, 2013
The College of Western Idaho art department is accepting applications for their Visiting Artist program which will provide an educational experience to CWI students, faculty and community at large.
This program will bring two local or regional artists, one fall semester and one spring semester, to the College of Western Idaho. Each artist will present their work in a public lecture, hold studio critiques with art students and teach a one day workshop in the art studio classroom at the College of Western Idaho.
Each artist will be compensated $500 for a three day visit to the college.

2013 Boise Plein Air Arts Competition
July 5 through 7, 2013
The 2013 Boise Plein Air Arts Competition will be a three day event beginning July 5, 2013.
Artists will create works on location in Boise. The public will be encouraged to view the works from earliest sketches to finishing touches in the downtown parks and neighborhoods of Boise.
Any artist 18 years or older can apply to compete for $1500 in cash merit awards. Competitors will show their work in the gallery opening show at Green Chutes Artist Co-operative on July 7th.
