Message from the President of TVAA….

October brings 2 new exhibitions to celebrate and an opportunity to learn! Please join the artists of Instinct Exhibition at the Nampa Civic Center on October 21st for the Opening Reception. I also hope to see you at the TVAA Gallery on October 26th for the Body Language Opening Reception. Follow the link in this email to sign up for the Golden Grounds and Pastes online demonstration which will be October 28th.

TVAA Gallery at the Gem Center for the Arts received a new sign built and installed by Exhibiting Member Andrew Groth. The sign is made to display 4 original logo artworks at a time created by founding TVAA Members. Because the TVAA logo is made up of numerous individual artworks, Andrew designed it to be 4 frames in which the TVAA logo letters can be switched out periodically. Thank you Andrew for your time and talents to create this beautiful sign which honors TVAA history and gives the TVAA Gallery a fresh look.

Artfully,
Leslie Jay

OTHER OPPORTUNITIES

GOLDEN Virtual Event: Acrylic Grounds & Pastes
OCT 28, 11-12:30 PM (PDT)
Instructor: Barbara De Pirro
Free
Register here.

Discover the possibilities of Acrylic Grounds & Pastes!
This event focuses on Golden’s vast array of Acrylic Grounds & Pastes. Gain a broad understanding of each product and the unique qualities each offers. I’ll be sharing how they can be used to create both smooth & textured surfaces, the various ways they can be painted once dry or tinted with paint while wet. I’ll share which products offer a toothy surface for drawing and which offer an absorbent surface for water media.

Then for a mixed media twist, I’ll share how they can be used to create layers within collage artworks. All of these products can be applied to a range of substrates such as paper, canvas, or wood panels. And so much more.Instructor will share several samples, techniques and answer questions during the event. A class summary and images will be provided afterwards so that artists can continue their exploration independently.

Attendees (US/Canada) will have the opportunity to request free product samples (FYI shipped after the event). More details will be sent upon registration. The Zoom link will be emailed 2 days, 1 day prior and the day of the event. This event is sponsored by Golden Artist Colors & co-hosted by Treasure Valley Artists Alliance in Idaho.
