PROSPECTUS

TVAA Exhibiting Artists Members in good standing (through the end of the exhibition) are invited to apply to be Featured Artists at the Nampa Civic Center. The Featured Artists displays will run concurrently, with the group exhibition. Two artists will be chosen per exhibition cycle to each display a body of their work. 

The exhibition space includes 2 locked glass cases in the Front Lobby adjacent to the Art Hallway. One artist will be displayed per case with a combination of 2D and/or 3D artworks. You may include articles that support your practice as an artist such as notebooks, art tools, images of yourself in your studio, objects of inspiration, etc.

  • All mediums will be considered.
  • The Nampa Civic Center is a public all ages venue. Only family friendly subject matter will be considered.
  • This is a curated exhibition with limited space. Not all submissions will be accepted.

Note that The Exhibition Committee reserves the right to exclude any artwork for any reason, including if a piece is not appropriately prepared for installation.

APPLICATION NOTES

  • DIMENSIONS: Total dimensions for each work must include the frame.
  • VALUE: Even if an artwork is not for sale, please state the value.
  • IMAGES
    • Must be named as follows; artists last name followed by title and submission entry number (example: Smith_Hero_01.jpg)
    • Image files must be in JPG format and no larger than 2MB. Please see the article on Photo Tips for preparing quality photos of your artwork. High quality photos are strongly encouraged, since this is how your work will be evaluated. There will also be an online version of this show using the images you send in with your application. Poor quality images will be disqualifying.
  • LATE ENTRIES: We cannot accept submissions after the deadline.
  • RECEIPT: To ensure receipt of your application confirmation email, make sure to add extra@treasurevalleyartistsalliance.org to your contact, or it may go to your spam folder.  If, however, you do not receive a confirmation email, contact our curator.

POST ACCEPTANCE

Specific artwork selected for the exhibition must be available from the drop-off date through the pick-up date. If you think there will be a conflict in scheduling a particular artwork, please do not submit that piece, as ;substitutions will not be considered. 

Please contact our curator in advance for special display needs, such as especially heavy artworks, electricity needs, etc. Note that if you’re displaying 3-D works, you’ll need to provide appropriate pedestals and risers marked with your name and phone number.

INSTALLATION AREA

PREPARATION

  • READY TO INSTALL: Each accepted artwork should be ready to install. Works that are not securely fastened to their frames or works that do do not have securely mounted D-rings and framing wire will not be installed.  Frames must be in good, display-worthy condition.  Sawtooth hangers are not acceptable.All artwork should be labeled on the back with the artist’s name, the title of the piece and any special hanging instructions. 
  • ARTIST LABELS: All artwork should be labeled on the back with the artist’s name, the title of the piece and any special hanging instructions.
  • GALLERY LABELS: Art labels to include name, title, year, medium, and value/price.  
  • SALE SIGN: If you intend to sell works, please include a sign that includes contact information so that interested buyers can get in touch with you.  
  • UNFRAMED WORKS: Unframed artworks, such as gallery-wrapped canvases, are acceptable as long as they have presentable edges (example: no visible staples). 
  • HELPFUL TIPS: Read this article for information on professional framing and appropriate hanging devices.

DELIVERY 
Accepted artwork must be dropped off during specified time and place (see below). Upon delivery, participating artists are required to fill out and sign a release waiver and drop-off sheet. Packing materials cannot stay on-site, and must be stored by the artist for the duration of the exhibit.

SALES

  • Artists will handle their own sales entirely. Please email contact information to be printed on gallery tags. 
  • Any work not for sale will be labeled NFS. 
  • Sold work must remain on exhibition for the duration of the show and can have a “red dot” on the label indicating the work has been sold. 
  • When the show comes down, TVAA requests at least a 10% commission on all sales, while artist retain at least 90%.
