Holiday Fare, is an exhibition running through the seasonal cornucopia of delights. Starting in September with Oktoberfest, October’s pumpkin spice obsessions, November has turkey with a side of cranberry, bountiful harvests for Kwanzaa, the branded challah of Hanukkah, Christmas cookies under the tree, and finally wrapping up with New Years Champagne toasts. Everything festive, decadent, traditional, nostalgic or critical of holiday consumerism will be fit for display. Just keep it family friendly please. Other ways of interpreting the theme are welcome. Such as newer traditions, like Summerween, to stretch the season. Maybe it has you thinking of holiday travel and all the joys and headaches of hustle & bustle. Bring your artistic Holiday Fare to the table!
Creativity with the theme is always encouraged. We are asking for a maximum of 6 pieces per artist. Multiple artworks from a series are encouraged. Artist’s statement is very important. Please include an artist’s statement that details how each work is relevant to the theme (50 words or less). You may provide a separate artist’s biography or general statement (50 words or less). Our host, the Nampa Civic Center is a public all ages venue.
TVAA Exhibiting Artists Members in good standing (through the end of the exhibition) are invited to apply to be Featured Artists at the Nampa Civic Center. The Featured Artists displays will run concurrently, with the group exhibition. Two artists will be chosen per exhibition cycle to each display a body of their work.
The exhibition space includes 2 locked glass cases in the Front Lobby adjacent to the Art Hallway. One artist will be displayed per case with a combination of 2D and/or 3D artworks. You may include articles that support your practice as an artist such as notebooks, art tools, images of yourself in your studio, objects of inspiration, etc.
All mediums will be considered.
The Nampa Civic Center is a public all ages venue. Only family friendly subject matter will be considered.
Note that The Exhibition Committee reserves the right to exclude any artwork for any reason, including if a piece is not appropriately prepared for installation.
SHOW DATES: Sept. 24, 2026 – Jan. 27, 2027
Specific artwork selected for the exhibition must be available from the drop-off date through the pick-up date. If you think there will be a conflict in scheduling a particular artwork, please do not submit that piece, as ;substitutions will not be considered.
Please contact our curator in advance for special display needs, such as especially heavy artworks, electricity needs, etc. Note that if you’re displaying 3-D works, you’ll need to provide appropriate pedestals and risers marked with your name and phone number.
Accepted artwork must be dropped off during the specified time and place (see IMPORTANT DATES).
All artwork should be labeled on the back with the artist’s name, the title of the piece and any special hanging instructions. This is important for properly identifying each piece, as signatures are sometimes hard to decipher. Artists will also be required to fill out and sign a release waiver.
Packing materials cannot stay on-site and must be stored by the artist for the duration of the exhibit.
