Artists Statement
Painted on location in the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument, Central Oregon. This landscape features the exotic paleosols (fossilized soils) that create the unusual land colors and support virtually no plant life. To me, this captures the dry and gentle wind, typical of the place.
Artist Bio
I work on site and from life whenever possible, celebrating natural or man-made forms and patterns. My favorite subjects are from personal experience, celebrating the special places and creatures that nurture and inspire joy. Though my artwork varies in subject and media, a central theme is bringing the preciousness of our world to a viewing audience.
