Artist Statement
This is the first painting I have enjoyed completing in my latest series, “Highways I have Traveled”. On a visit to Southern California I saw the state road sign and a thrill of nostalgia hit me. We drove on this road when I was a young child riding in the car for family vacations to go camping in the High Sierras. I could almost hear my parents voices exclaiming, “”Highway 395!”
I paint and draw as often as I can. As a semi retired RN, it’s my therapy and joy. My mother and grandfather were also professional artists. I love scenes of everyday life and hope to capture the beauty in them to share with others.
