Artist Statement
We have traveled on the Interstate 15 periodically through the years on route to visit friends and family. South of Los Vegas I would each time do a double take. What does that sign say? That can’t be the real name of a road ! I finally caught it with my camera last Spring. Then I looked up the story of why the road and offramp were named Zzyzx and the interesting stories and history surrounding the area.
I paint and draw as often as I can. As a semi retired RN, it’s my therapy and joy. My mother and grandfather were also professional artists. I love scenes of everyday life and hope to capture the beauty in them to share with others.
