A Rustle of Change
Oil and Charcoal on Canvas
Artist Statement
A Rustle of Change is part of a series called Land Strata about the time interactions and dialogue between the sky and land. I have imagined the Spring River holding and creating all the moments of a day in its waters except for the first rustle of change that blows through the trees. I have painted this painting with the cool greens and blues of early spring with accents of warm colors of reds and oranges that signify the beginning of the change of season. This abstract imaginary landscape began with charcoal and ended with oil.
I am an artist who paints stories that speak of time, place and nature. My artwork is a contemporary fiction composed of thought, place, sight, myth, emotion, and dream. I am primarily a painter, painting large expressive, colorful, and imaginary abstract landscapes, in oil, acrylic and mixed media. Nature is my muse and inspiration. I have a BFA, MA, and MFA in Painting. My artwork has been exhibited in numerous shows and galleries in California, New York, New Jersey, and Idaho.
