Artists Statement

I create artworks that express my personal experiences. I find inspiration in the patterns found in nature, including the human form. It is my intention to evoke the physical and spiritual human experience. My mediums are both 2D and 3D mixed media. 2D satisfies a need for immediacy in capturing an idea. Sculpture, through a tactile, hands-on and spatial relationship to materials, brings me closest to my creative source. I am interested in pushing the boundaries between craft, functionality, and fine art. My intention is to create art that is both personally unique and universally accessible.
