To get past a pretty landscape, I use vivid contrasting color and texture in a painting to take the viewer beyond what is known and into a new sensory dimension. My pure contrasting color and size with repeated lines and dots invites you to slow down and feel new sensations, to pay attention and take time to really look and listen. Maybe you’ll sense something new or unexpected that you’ve not witnessed before in art or even in the world.
My passion is color and oil painting. The result is hundreds of canvases I’ve created over the last 45 years. Most have been sold through galleries in Arizona, California and Idaho or through my web page – RenaVandewater.com. I’m included in many public and private collections across the United States and a few in Europe. My ideas spring from life: traveling and living on a farm. After my children were grown, I went back to school and earned a Masters of Fine Art degree. My work is harmonious and uplifting with a strong presence of atmosphere and intensity.
