Sheep Crossing~Eagle, Idaho~Beacon Light and Highway 55
Oil, 10 x 10
Artist Statement
I always create art with a personal connection. I had the opportunity to witness the sheep crossing, which included approximately 2,000 sheep, twice this spring. What a site! I was amazed at the sheep dogs zipping around the whole flock. At one point, the sheep took a wrong turn starting up the opposite hill. It didn’t take long for those dogs to get those sheep headed back in the right direction!
I am a recently retired teacher, which gives me more time to paint! I paint mostly oil. I love finding subjects that I connect with on a personal level. My preference is to paint en Plein Air. When that is not possible, I will use a photo reference. I was born and raised in Idaho, and I love exploring new places and participating in new experiences.
