Artist Statement
Even with the sun shining, it was a chilly, windy day on the coast and this Great White Egret looked just like I felt…chilly. This painting is created on an iPad with an Apple Pencil and ProCreate app. It is printed on archival cold press paper with pigment inks.
When I took my first art class I walked into the local art store clutching my supply list. The owner asked if he could help me, I replied, “Yes, as soon as I touch every single thing in this store.” I love to spend time outside in the wild places of Idaho for inspiration. I paint with acrylics, gouache and an iPad and Apple Pencil. Most of the time I start with an old-fashioned pencil.
