Artist Statement
The adaptability and tenacity of nature are captured in this scene of the stone outcropping and windblown trees surrounded by the incoming waters of the bay. The momentary calm of the tide allows the viewer to focus on the rocks with their crumbling but still sturdy façade that is crowned by trees that grow and survive in a most unlikely place. The setting for this painting was the Siletz Bay near LIncoln City, Oregon.
