Riverside Tree Trunks
watercolor on paper, 30 x 23
Artist Statement
I have done many paintings of tree trunks in the last several years. This one is probably the most colorful and bold focusing on the trunks in a more abstract fashion. I enjoy the way tree trunks build upon each other in this way but they also are a challenge to paint so that they complement each other and suggest that each is part of the whole.
Painting in watercolor has been a joy to me for more than 40 years and I paint as often as I can in my home studio. I enter several shows per year and participate in TVAA, BOSCO and I am a distinguished signature member of the Idaho Watercolor Society. Art in general is an enriching part of my life both as an artist and an appreciator of other artists work.
