Artist Statement
This painting depicts the Bavarian Trefileria on the Peignitz River. Recently I’ve been doing a series and traveling by oil paint on canvas to countries I have toured in the past or want to visit in the future. The pandemic has slowed travel in my life but revisiting destinations I love in paint is very rewarding.
My passion is color and painting. I am included in many public and private collections across the United States and a few in Europe. My ideas spring from life: traveling, and living on a farm. After my children were grown, I went back to school and earned a Masters of Fine Art degree. My current belief is that there is so much war, fear and uncertainty in our lives, I have no desire to add to it with bleak or didactic paintings. My work is harmonious and uplifting while having a strong presence of atmosphere and intensity.
