Cloud Front
Oil and cold wax on cradled gesso board
Artists Statement
This imaginary landscape painting is about the dialogue between the sky and the water as a cloud storm front moves in. The water holds its memories and reflections as the sudden storm moves in and tries to change the balance. The painting is at that in between moment where the sky tries influence the water and the water has not yet decided to be influenced. I have painted this painting in a loose linear style with half tone colors to capture the oncoming light change and visual indecision. Cloud Front is part of a series called Fragments and Elements.
