Artist Statement
I painted Lauralee in the garden, drawn to the colorful flowers and abundance of greenery. This painting shows the artist completely taking in the scene. She wears a lovely hat and dress that adds to the elegance of her surroundings.
I enjoy painting impressionistic oil paintings, especially en plein air to truly connect with the subjects. In these paintings of “Artists in the Wild,” I was inspired to capture the artists’ stories as each of them were immersed in their environments.
