Little Artist in the Garden
Oil on Panel
Artist Statement
One day, while painting in the garden with Plein Air Painters of Idaho, I was also watching my three year old granddaughter while her mother had errands to run. I set Sydnee up with paper and paints, which she eagerly put to work. She enjoyed every minute of our time in the garden. Sydnee watched and listened to everyone describe their paintings. When it was her turn, she proudly showed the crowd her painting. This painting shows her confidence and the group’s positive encouragement towards the young artist.
I enjoy painting impressionistic oil paintings, especially en plein air to truly connect with the subjects. In these paintings of “Artists in the Wild”, I was inspired to capture the artists’ stories as each of them were immersed I their environments.
