Artists Statement
Summertime for me means long hikes to high mountain lakes, and if it’s warm enough, there awaits a refreshing swim at the end of the trail. This lake is located in the Frank Church Wilderness area north of Stanley. It is one of a chain of several lakes called the Langer Lakes, and is perfect for summer getaways. The small island in the middle that is an easy swim away. Though the Wizard Tower is fictitious, the rest of the picture is exactly how it appears. When on the island, one can dream of their own mystical wizard tower here.
Artists Bio
I started out doing science fiction style surreal landscapes focusing on perspective drawing and depth, but the natural world has always fascinated me as well. In the past few years I have drawn inspiration from special places in the Idaho and Owyhee back country that appeal to me, and have wanted to do my own fantasy take on them.
