Artists Statement
One of my favorite things about summer is capturing photos of the small (or often big) wonders on my summer hikes, including the many flowers, trees and greenery. Sometimes there is an abandoned car that’s nearly turned to rust and dust, but the unique giant cacti are the more sassy finds within the desert. Cacti are are persistent, stubborn in their existence, and I’d imagine if they could talk like the flowers in Alice in Wonderland, they’d leave you with a scalding sassy remark as you passed by on the trail.
Artist Bio
If I don’t have paint on my hands, I have dust on my shoes. Often my hikes inspire my paintings and my paintings remind me I can hardly sit still and want to return to the trails as soon as possible. My favorite time is summer, a time for finding all the beautiful and weird things while being in the best place to be, outside.
