Artist Statement
I have been fascinated with learning the different composition styles. I found that the simple cross or cruciform style was one the most challenging for me. I did a tutorial with Laura Lein-Svencner and was able to understand the cruciform concept. These pieces are examples of what I have learned. My cruciforms have been created using collage, homemade papers, acrylic paints, layering, marks, etc.
My name is Debby Graf. My artist journey began in 1996 with rubber stamps. From there I expanded to altered books, assemblage, collage, homemade papers and miscellaneous mixed media techniques. I enjoy the process of art and challenging myself to new techniques, colors, etc. I do have favorites that I constantly come back to and incorporate into everything new I learn. I love creating layers and depth.
