Artists Statement
The way in which we receive input is frequently many layers of senses and emotions that can morph and change over time. As people, we carry with us the sensations of life and intertwine them with our emotions and create a colorful tapestry of our lives and memory. Here, the layers of watercolor, pencil, colored pencils on cotton vellum hope to reach for this concept. Time moves us forward and allows us to build additional layers and threads into our experiences. Science reminds us that through time, entropy always increases.
Artist Bio
Shanae Lavelle’s journey as an artist began as a child with few resources and a lot of imagination and energy. She has embarked on a variety of artistic quests both as an illustrator and painter. Shanae provides her services as both a digital and traditional artist, aiming to capture the quiet mystery and stillness of the American West as well as the assault on the senses facing people from media exposure. Shanae aims to explore the world around us all in its many forms in an attempt to make sense of it all in these wild times.
