Artist Statement
To get past a pretty landscape, I use vivid color, pattern and texture in a painting to take the viewer beyond what is known and into a new dimension. It invites you to slow down and feel new sensations, to pay attention and take time to really look and listen. Maybe you’ll sense something new or unexpected that you’ve not witnessed before in art or in the world.
My passion is color and painting. I am included in many public and private collections across the United States and a few in Europe. My ideas spring from traveling. After my children were grown, I went back to school and earned a Masters of Fine Art degree. My current belief is that there is so much uncertainty in our lives I have no desire to add to it with bleak or didactic paintings.
