Artist Statement
This painting is of a special place that a dear friend of mine explores every year. He tells stories of the power and beauty he witnesses each summer as he explores.
For him, this mountain is a symbol of strength and resilience. My goal was to translate this beauty that he sees and the stories that he tells.
My Name is Karin Yahr, an artist based in Boise Idaho. I find my Zen through hiking and nature. My artwork is inspired by my mindful wandering through the natural world. I strive to capture peace and connection through my artwork, taking mental snapshots of the world that surround me, and conveying what is beyond the obvious through the use of color, line and texture.
