Artist Statement
On a lonely stretch of highway along the border between Colorado and Utah lay my pathway home to Idaho. What a joy it was in the autumn to drive this brilliant pathway with the late afternoon sun lighting the scenery. The glowing yellow aspens framed against the deep, deep blue cliffs reminded me that I was drawing closer to home; with warm hearts waiting and a holy splash of delight against the darkening landscape.
Becoming involved in the local art scene after retirement, I found a great outlet for my creativity. I’ve been graciously included in local, regional and international shows and several of my pieces have won awards and hang in corporate, public and private venues.
My love is color in oils depicting natural surroundings. Landscapes reflect the seasons; inspiring me and marking the passing of time and the importance of making the most of every minute.
