Artist Statement
This is Gibbons Falls in Yellowstone National Park. I saw this in the summer of 2022 during my vacation.
I love the beauty of waterfalls and ocean waves. Moving water speaks to my heart with restoration and renewal, The sights and the sounds of moving water are mesmerizing. There is something calming and hypnotizing about them. They speak of purity and serenity.
A great deal of my artistic inspiration can be found in animals and nature. When we find ourselves caught up in the stress and rapid pace of the modern world, animals and nature can be sources of healing that help us to experience a sense of the eternal.
My unique artistic process involves combining colored pencil and Turpenoid with other media. Turpenoid makes the colored pencil look more like a painting than a drawing.
