Artist Statement
God V The King is an idea I had this past few years after watching, probably for too long, my classic designed “Boy pours water into girls bucket and she pours into her basket” etc water fountain. I create 3D pieces I call “Artoons” which in this case features the Godzilla v King Kong rivalry mixed with Disney’s Ariel and other fantasy characters. This is a working fountain with Godzilla spouting off with and is part of a series of Artoons like “Through the Glass Slipper”. This uses an standard electric pump. Comes with traditional boy/girl water bucket sculpture.
The Artoons are a series that I have created that are fun and visually entertaining and typically are built around clocks. I have been interested in creating unique clocks that do more than give the time. Concepts on the existence of Time and fantasy characters are part of my typical piece.
