Monochrome

Innocence in the Wild

Acrylic

Artist Statement

MONOCHROMATIC color is interesting in the way it requires value variation to give the work interest and depth. Idaho has a great deal of wildlife especially deer. They are in residential areas seeking water and food. They complicate the suburban areas where building has taken over their grazing and watering opportunities. However, they are interesting and appealing to just about everyone. Especially interesting are the does and fauns in the spring. They are in my yard most of the year.

As we watch the deer come and go, we realizes how fragile their existence is in this ever changing world.
