Artists Statement
I began painting 6 years ago to help me work through some health issues. With limited mobility, and not being as active as I used to be, my mind was slipping into depression. As a clinical social worker I’d encourage clients to process their emotions in a journal. They could write or use color and drawings. After filling up a few art journals I moved to a canvas when someone wanted to purchase a painting. Painting helps my brain and reduces my pain. I’d like to encourage everyone to be creative. The world needs more art and artists.
