Digital Painting Giclee on Archival Cold Press Paper
“Two Hunters” contains two hunters who inhabit the dark. The coyote slips in and out of the dark and light as he moves through the night. Orion, the hunter in the stars, shines out from the dark of night. I originally drew the coyote in the daytime, but as I worked on the piece the colors of a nighttime scene caught my imagination. Soon, Orion was added to the night sky and the painting became a play of light and shadow of the two hunters.
When Cindi Walton took her first art class she walked into the local art store clutching her supply list. The owner, seeing she was a student, asked if he could help. She smiled, saying, “Yes, as soon as I touch every single thing in this store.” If not in the studio she spends her time outside in the wild places of Idaho that inspire her. Primarily, she paints with acrylics on canvas, but she also uses watercolor/gouache and her iPad and Apple Pencil. Most of the time she begins with a good ol’ sharpened pencil.
