Artist Statement
Idaho scabland and irrigated farm land are interplays of two extremes as ranchers eke out a living in the curves and corners of the desert.
Artist Bio
It usually starts with a No Plan plan, or at least a Vague Plan. The best work makes itself, leads the way, is part of a conversation. We talk, negotiate, fight, concede, and sooner or later come to an agreement. Art is construction: I build art. My motto is “Throw nothing away. Salvage and transform it.” Another is, “If there is not a problem to be solved then it is incumbent to invent one.” And one problem naturally leads to another.
