Weeping Water
Oil on canvas
Artists Statement
A sharp tooth rock and a well-sculpted reversal, just below “Taffy Puller” in Jacob’s Ladder, a class V+ rapid on the North Fork of the Payette River. This rugged water is infused with beauty as well as tragedy. Painted on location in mid-July. 1440 CFS.
Artist Bio
I create images, exploring land and waterscapes, architecture, still life, and the animal kingdom. I work on site and from life whenever possible, celebrating natural or man-made forms and patterns. My favorite subjects are from personal experience, celebrating the special places and creatures that nurture and inspire joy in myself and others. Though my artwork varies in subject and media, a central theme is bringing the preciousness of our natural world to a viewing audience.
