Even In The Darkest Times We Can Still See The Light
Acrylic mixed media
Air, Earth, Water, Fire, Ether/space
She stepped into the elements,
To free herself from
Walking barefoot along the path
Gathering wormwood and mugwort.
Emerging herself in water
Breathing deeply of clean air.
Connecting to the universe,
Slowly Going deep inside.
Asking for those who’ve come before,
The matriarchal lineage.
Reclaiming their names
and offering forgiveness
To heal their hearts.
Removing the generational pain…..then
Reflecting on descendants.
Asking for protection
to let the younger ones grow free,
How to feel………how to heal…… by
Returning to the elements.
I’m an artist who loves to practice and learn. I started painting 5 years ago to stimulate my brain after having some health issues. I paint from an intuitive place and rarely have a composition in mind. I begin moving color on the canvas creating layers and soon a painting unfolds itself to me. Some only have a couple of layers, but some have many many layers. I have recently attempted to paint faces, and get better with each one. I try to encourage others to begin a creative process because it helps my brain on so many levels.
