The color orange is powerful. It can alert you to dangers or create beauty in a sunset. I use the color orange in my paintings to allow my images to jump off the canvas with vitality. Orange combined with its compliments of blues, purples and greens create the affect I strive for as an artist. I want my paintings to be alive with energy.
I have been working for several years on a series of paintings that depict places I’ve traveled. Corfu is one of this series of fourteen completed works.
My passion is color and oil painting. The result is hundreds of canvases I’ve created over the last 45 years. Most have been sold through galleries in Arizona, California and Idaho or through my web page – RenaVandewater.com. I’m included in many public and private collections across the United States and a few in Europe. My ideas spring from life: traveling and living on a farm. After my children were grown, I went back to school and earned a Masters of Fine Art degree. My work is harmonious and uplifting with a strong presence of atmosphere and intensity.
