Artist Statement
She asked to be painted. And so I got to work before she vanished. She represents the feminine energy within a fleeting environment. Visual perfume. Top notes of violet, middle notes of bergamot…and bottom notes of purple and silver sage. And the scent will still linger in your eyes long after you’ve left the room.
Shauna Crandall is a multi media artist exploring themes of wonder, symbolism, and the surreal. Working in everything from glass to silk to watercolor to oil and more, she uses various medium to express different facets of her curiosity about the universe.
A recent transplant to Boise, she brings a wide-ranging creative background and a passion for both visual art and music. Her work invites viewers into dreamlike worlds shaped by emotion, mystery, and transformation.
