Artist Statement
As a breast cancer survivor I attended a retreat in 2024 hosted by the organization Casting For Recovery. They taught us fly fishing as a way to process the cancer experience with other survivors. That retreat inspired the direction my ceramics has taken in the past year through the motifs of rivers and metaphors about fishing. As a ceramic artist, the elements of earth, water, fire and air all play a role in my process.
