Artist Statement
In this piece, I explore the quiet dualities that live within a forest—protection and exposure, movement and stillness, seen and unseen. Layers of watercolor suggest not only trees and light, but also the hidden lives that exist just beneath the surface. This abstract impressionist piece reflects how forest spaces—quiet and layered—can offer a sense of safety and stillness.
I am a watercolor artist whose abstract impressionist work draws from the rhythms of the natural world. My subjects—trees, wildlife, and coastal landscapes – emerge through layered washes, soft textures, and shifting light. Through an intuitive painting process, I create contemplative spaces that invite personal reflection and emotional connection. My work has been included in juried exhibitions, most recently in a regional gallery show.
