Summer Heat
Watercolor and indelible ink
Artist Statement
As this long, hot summer moves along and I continue to do my PT daily for my shoulder, I turn to art forms that I can do without stressing my healing from surgery.
This is a pen and ink watercolor, inspired by one of my favorite artists, Sandrine Pelissier. Base layers are done in washes of various Daniel Smith and M Graham pigments. I finished with beautiful, dazzling FineTec iridescents.
If our eyes are the windows to our souls, then the items we fill our lives with allow others to peek inside. For me, art is a link to my past and a bridge to the future.
Creating makes me happy, I hope my art makes you happy, too.
I’m primarily self-taught. I’ve sold locally and nationally via venues including Holiday bazaars, art shows and retail businesses.
