The “Eight of Incantations” from the Morbidly Adorable Tarot (Swords in the traditional tarot) shows Medusa, much maligned but by no means a monster, who keeps playing as the fire approaches. Have you ever felt rooted to a spot even when you know it is time to run? Our darkling could easily pull up the arrows on which their shoes are tangled and leave the burning wasteland, but sometimes we don’t know our own strength.
Misty Monster is a fantasy painter working in the big eye and pop surrealism style. This sweetly spooky creator is a tarot enthusiast whose own opus, “The Morbidly Adorable Tarot,” is being printed by U.S. Games. Among other things, her work has been printed in books and magazines, featured on podcasts and radio shows, shown in galleries, and has been sold in various forms of merchandise including figurines, jewelry, and even T-Shirts for Hot Topic.
