Greta & The Serpent
Acrylic & Oil
Artist Statement
Greta & The Serpent came from a vision after seeing St. Margaret and the Dragon in the Lourve in Paris last year.
I was taken by the light and shadows, the monstrous dragon.
This was painted by many artists including Rafael, Romano, Vecelli.
I wanted my Margaret to be active, strong, fighting (rather than martyred) and the serpent larger.
Work life followed two parallel tracks. My career focused on psychotherapy/service work while at the same time, I pursued a variety of artistic paths including painting still lifes & portraits to ceramics & sculpture. It is as though an invisible thread pulled me through everything I have painted from oil to acrylic to oil again, from otherworldly abstract cloudlike landscapes to allegorical images. I love all the possibilities.
