Artist Statement
Fifteen years ago I began my love affair with vultures. I watched them begin their migration here at home. In the winter I traveled to the Central Coast of California and I saw large numbers of them sitting on fence posts. I became mesmerized by their large wingspans and their aero-dynamic flights. They amaze me so much that I am always on vulture look-out.
When Cindi Walton took her first art class, she took her supplies list to the local art store. The owner of the store asked if he could help her. She said, “Yes, after I have touched everything in this store.” Since then she graduated BFA and designed a line of a Christmas cards, written and illustrated six children’s stories. When she isn’t in the studio, Cindi loves hiking through the sagebrush steppe.
