Artist Statement
These acrylic pourings on deep edged canvas and wood are a representation of the medium and style I’m fascinated with lately. Multiple coats of high gloss varnish are applied to bring out the beautiful rich depth and color that arouse the imagination of the viewer.
StarGazer feels like the orchestration of elements beyond human understanding of a star being born: A snapshot of creation on an unimaginable silent scale.
Twenty years as a professional artist, I’ve accomplished works of art from public exterior murals, scenic room dividers, oil and acrylic paintings to 3D painted statues of Idaho.
Lately, I have been working on pour paintings, finishing the pieces with high gloss varnish. I have created deep edge artwork framed with floater frames for hanging on the walls. Also, I’m fascinated at the rock-like look of the acrylic pours on free standing Idaho sculptures.
