A Venetian Craftsman
Archival pigment inkjet print
Artist Statement
A craftsman who sells spectacle frames sits by the window of his shop in Venice. Reflections in the window glass add a sense of mystery to the image.
Alan Bailey tries to capture images of situations that he sees around him, that express thoughts and feelings about the world. By placing a frame around a situation it can be possible to evoke meanings beyond the simple assemblage of objects within that frame.
He has exhibited in more than 40 exhibitions in the UK and the United States. He has had two prints accepted in the Salon of British Contemporary Photography.
