Artist Statement
This is a color field study, laying threads of color over a field of turquoise. The encaustic medium visually resonates with only three colors, creating the impression of a fourth color.
I have been painting with encaustics for a number of years, freely switching among various levels of realism and abstraction. This year I have been playing with color in larger scale paintings.
