Venus with Scorpion Fish

Artist Statement
I’ve been working with chine colle linocuts this year; it’s a process of printing, painting and collaging. I make images, paint them, and put them together. In this print, I put my Bottecelli Venus together with abstract elements and the scorpion fish: something beautiful and something deadly. I loved the juxtaposition of elements, both in a visual and a metaphorical sense!
I’ve used a variety of linocut techniques in my work this year. It’s been fun creating these unique images. And I hope I’ve brought a lot of joy and light into the world!
