Artist Statement
The image of this embrace feels passionate and tender.
I think it is a moment in a dance they are performing.
I think it is a moment in our consciousness when we are totally committed to ourselves, when we are bonded in our feminine and masculine parts, when we are compassionate and caring to ourselves in a deep way, when we tenderly tend to ourself.
Work life followed two parallel tracks. My career focused on psychotherapy/service work while at the same time, I pursued a variety of artistic paths including painting still lifes & portraits to ceramics & sculpture. It is as though an invisible thread pulled me through everything I have painted from oil to acrylic to oil again, from otherworldly abstract cloudlike landscapes to allegorical images. I love all the possibilities.
