CALL TO ARTISTS
A SPECIAL TVAA JURIED SHOW
Crossroads Carnegie Art Center
Baker City, Oregon
Oct. 1st – 31, 2020
“What a long, strange trip it’s been”
– Grateful Dead
Consider the physical, metaphorical or metaphysical. Which is the path taken or not taken? What to pack for the trip? Birth, death and the strange trip in between. How far can we go and what kind of craft will take us there? Capture imaginary journeys or your real adventures – humor, calamity or triumph.
Please share your “travel journal”, “fantasy vehicle poem” or other musings in 100 words or less.
There is a $12 non-refundable entry fee for this show to help cover costs including transportation.

Acceptance of Work
Current TVAA member(s) submitting images meeting the requirements of this exhibition’s theme by the deadline are encouraged to submit artwork for this show. Artwork selected for the exhibition must be available from the drop-off date through to the pick-up date. Substitutions will not be considered. If you think there will be a conflict in scheduling a particular artwork, please do not submit that piece. The Exhibition committee reserves the right to exclude any artwork for any reason, including not being appropriately prepared for installation.
Hanging Devices
Each accepted artwork should have an appropriate hanging device attached. Read this article for information on professional framing and appropriate hanging devices. If artwork is heavy, please make sure hanging device is suitable for weight and appropriate for sheetrock or wood panels. Pieces without appropriate hanging devices will not be installed.
Delivery of Artwork
Accepted artwork must be dropped off at the TVAA Gallery at
The Gem Center for the Arts
2417 W. Bank Drive
(just off Vista behind the Washer Woman)
between the hours of 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm on Monday, Sept. 28, 2020.
All artwork should be labeled on the back with the artist’s name and the title of the piece. This is important for properly identifying each piece as signatures are sometimes hard to decipher. Artists will also be required to sign a release upon delivery of work.
Sales
Artwork at Crossroads Carnegie can be posted with pricing and the art center will process sales during the show, taking a 30% commission on sales. Artwork can also be posted as “Not-for-Sale”.
