Reflections & Shadows

February 3 to May 2, 2020

We can explore this literally, or in the metaphorical, psychological or historical. Who casts a long shadow? How might one reflect on our human condition? Where do these converge?
Consider phenomena, surprises and mystery.
Optional: Please explain your interpretation of the theme in 100 words or less.

All 2D welcome. Size is limited to 320 square inches, INCLUDING FRAME, due to the limited wall space.
Please inquire early about special display needs.
Unfortunately the library cannot accommodate 3D artwork at this time.

Acceptance of Work

Current TVAA member(s) submitting images meeting the requirements of this exhibition’s theme by the deadline are encouraged to submit artwork for this show. Artwork selected for the exhibition must be available from the drop-off date through to the pick-up date. Substitutions will not be considered. If you think there will be a conflict in scheduling a particular artwork, please do not submit that piece. The Exhibition committee reserves the right to exclude any artwork for any reason, including not being appropriately prepared for installation.

Hanging Devices

Each accepted artwork should have an appropriate hanging device attached. For tips on preparing quality photos of your artwork, please click  here. If artwork is heavy, please make sure hanging device is suitable for weight and appropriate for sheetrock. Pieces without appropriate hanging devices will not be installed.

Hanging apparatus at Meridian Library is rod-and-track.

Delivery of Artwork

Accepted artwork must be dropped off at the Meridian Library, 1326 W. Cherry Lane, Meridian, Idaho, between the hours of 9:00 am and 3:00 pm on Monday, Feb. 3, 2020. All artwork should be labeled on the back with the artist’s name and the title of the piece. This is important for properly identifying each piece as signatures are sometimes hard to decipher. Artists will also be required to sign a release upon delivery of work.

Artists may provide email contact information for contact by potential patrons. Artwork at the Meridian Library will not have prices listed, but  a contact sheet will be available. When the show comes down if the work has sold, artists are encouraged to donate 10% to TVAA and 10% to the Meridian Library, retaining 80% of the sale for themselves. Sold work must remain on exhibition for the duration of the show and will have a “red dot” on the label indicating the work has been sold. Purchases must be arranged by the individual artists and their buyers. Neither TVAA nor Meridian Library will handle any sales.
