Work & Play
June 8 through August 10, 2018
How do we feel about work vs. play? Consider the different ways that we work and play and the ways that these are changing. How are work and play the same or different, or how do they compete for our attention and time? Play with your artistic media, shape, form and conventions. When is art-making work and when is it play? Consider our public spaces versus private spaces. Where are we allowed to work or play? What are the architectural and sociological structures supporting or limiting these two modes?
Let the play begin…
All 2D and 3D media welcome. Please inquire about special needs.

Acceptance of Work
Current TVAA member(s) submitting images meeting the requirements of this exhibition’s theme by the deadline are encouraged to submit artwork for this show. Artwork selected for the exhibition must be available from the drop-off date through to the pick-up date. Substitutions will not be considered. If you think there will be a conflict in scheduling a particular artwork, please do not submit that piece. The Exhibition committee reserves the right to exclude any artwork for any reason, including not being appropriately prepared for installation.
Each accepted artwork should have an appropriate hanging device attached. Read this article for information on professional framing and appropriate hanging devices. If artwork is heavy, please make sure hanging device is suitable for weight and appropriate for sheetrock. Pieces without appropriate hanging devices will not be installed.
Delivery of Artwork
Accepted artwork must be dropped off at the offices of Boise State Public Radio, 220 E. Parkcenter Blvd. in Boise between the hours of 9:00 am and 3:00 pm on June 4, 2018. All artwork should be labeled on the back with the artist’s name and the title of the piece. This is important for properly identifying each piece as signatures are sometimes hard to decipher. Artists will also be required to sign a release upon delivery of work.
Artists may provide email contact information for contact by potential patrons. Artwork for sale will have the works labeled with “Value $____”. Any work not for sale will be labeled NFS. When the show comes down if the work has sold, artists are encouraged to donate 10% to TVAA and 10% to Boise State Public Radio, retaining 80% of the sale themselves. Sold work must remain on exhibition for the duration of the show and will have a “red dot” on the label indicating the work has been sold. Purchases must be arranged by the individual artists and their buyers. Neither TVAA nor BSPR will handle any sales.
