The Emerald/Orchard Walkability Project of the Central Rim Neighborhood Association seeks volunteers to create murals on the “Freemont Wall” (south side of W. Freemont St. between Orchard and Pond). These murals will add the illusion of space and depth to the streetscape, brightening it for pedestrians, cyclists and drivers with themes reflecting businesses conducted in the buildings, the history of the Central Bench or the cultural diversity of this vibrant Boise neighborhood. Initial murals will be unveiled at National Night Out, August 7, 2018. The neighborhood is raising funds for supplies to support this work. All interested and available artists are asked to submit three (3) previous works of their art. Let us know if you have previous mural or large painting experience and whether you would prefer to work alone, work on a team, or lead a team for the actual painting of a mural.
The timeline for the mural project is as follows:
Submissions deadline is midnight, Saturday, May 19.
Call back to artists is Tuesday, May 22.
Mural painting starts June 2.
Mural Painting completion July 28.
Unveiling at National Night Out August 7.
